the firm

GSD Architect is a Kuala Lumpur based architectural, master planning and interior design practise established in 1995. We are an Architectural Consultancy firm that specializes in conceiving modern, distinctive and progressive solutions for architectural design and urban planning projects. We have successfully developed functional and meaningful projects in the country from Penang in the north to Johor in the south, and overseas in Vietnam.

The moniker GSD is an abbreviation of Group Studio Design. It expresses our working philosophy of being a collaboration between several design studios, each with different set of skills and specialisation, working together, side-by-side with like minded passion to resolve issues in design, urban design and architecture.

We offer a comprehensive range of professional consultancy services in the disciplines of architecture, interior design and planning that include conceptual design, master planning, urban design, building design, interior design and contract management.

philosophy

Urbanity is a continuous development that reacts to the time and place, like a palimpsest where new concepts emerge as they overwrite and replace the old. Likewise we believe in experimenting with new ideas, concepts, methods and materials as we create new architecture to redefine the old.

We believe that in moving forward, architecture should touch base with cultural identity and sense of place, and to reunite it with modern architecture. By doing that tradition is kept fresh and relevant with current times, providing a continuity and a new legacy for the future.
